Thinking globally, delivering locally

In the week beginning 23rd March through to 27th March, we will be delivering a huge program of video conferences for DET teachers in NSW. There are 3 underlying themes to this conference: Open Education, Indigenous Education and Communities of Schools.
Every morning there will be a keynote: Professor James Dalziel will deliver his message about the importance and impact of open education on our profession, Sue Beveridge will discuss the impact of the Connected Classroom Project as a work in progress and its impact on communities of schools, Delia Browne will cover issues around copyright and creative commons and I might even mention the work of Macquarie ICT Innovations Centre in the scheme of things. After each keynote there will be a series of primary, high school, and combined middle years sessions delivered by invited guests and various teachers who are working very hard in the field. Some of these sessions will be about the personal journeys while other sessions will have a more practical application.
Each afternoon, there will be a session between 4-5pm, which will enable teachers who cannot get out of class to view these sessions until after school. Or if a school does not have an Interactive Classroom yet, their teachers might organise to travel to their nearest IC school.
