me.edu.au

Today Concetta Gotlieb delivered a workshop for all our staff on social networking and the benefits of using an application like me.edu.au to broaden our online profile and increase our social and professional support networks. I think everyone was interested, engaged, enlightened, excited at the potentials and even a little overwhelmed at times. The professional dialogue was stimulating too!

I still have some issues with my blog on that space. I must have had it working at some stage early in the piece, coz I have previously posted to it but alas! it doesn't work atm.

  1. I think me.edu.au may become a very useful tool for educators.I know from a personal point of view, myspace and facebook has become a part of my personal life so it could be fair to say that Imsure a site like this could become a part of my professional life if used properly or utilised fully. Time constraints sometimes get in the way of our use of these online facilities. I know that looking at our email, blog, social networking sites etc takes some time each day to keep up to date regularly but in the digital age i am sure this wont be an issue due to the amount many of us in the profession especially spend on the computer each day. I think that if I use a site such as me.edu.au for purposes such as the sharing of resources, support and ideas it should be a good thing.. and a worthwhile thing not just another thing on a 'to do' list each day. glen smith

  4. I believe that the me.edu.au "tool" is a great way of organising so many other available tools. I look forwar to learning more as I pursue this further. My one real barrier is the time factor but I think,as a professional person, this just has to be found... some reflection on this is my next step!
Thanks for the opportunity to keep-on-learning.
