This week has been fairly disjointed for me: in the office 3 days, out for 2 days.
In the office, there's a lot of activity and interest around our wiimote course on the 20th January. We have Ben Jones from Centre for Learning Innovation (ex-Rooty Hill HS) working with our staff to deliver a half-day session on the technical how-tos of using the wiimote to turn a normal whiteboard into an interactive whiteboard. In the afternoon session, we will be looking at a few curriculum-based units of work which would be relevant to student outcomes. This session is full.
On the 21st and 22nnd January, we are running a 2-day course called 'Free and Easy Computing'. We have offered sessions in the use and application of free software such as Google Earth, Picasa, Hot Potatoes, Scratch, MW Snap, Jing, Audacity, SketchUp, Monkey Jam, Blender and other Web 2.0 tools. On the 2nd day, Delia Browne, the Director of Copyright Services will be speaking to participants about the importance of licensing and copyright.
